Northeastern states confront the energy crisis. Papers of the regional response to the energy crisis: a conference of legislative leaders from the northeastern states
The purpose of this Conference was to allow state legislators to hear the best scientific and technical thinking available on energy. State legislators will ultimately have the greatest responsibilities for making policy decisions on energy; e.g., they formulate policies on home insulation, building codes, transportation, utility rate structures, refinery placement, nuclear plant siting, and taxes. Twelve papers, which are separately abstracted, were presented under these main sessions: 1) the State Challenge: Regional Energy Planning; 2) Sources of Energy: the Choices Ahead; 3) Insufficient Energy: the Trade-offs Involved; 4) State Legislative Use of Science and Technology; and 5) the State Legislative Response.
