The experimental method of laser induced vibrational fluorescence has been used to measure the overall rate, k(12), with which the (001) vibrational energy level of CO/sub 2/ in the lowest electronic state is deactivated through collisions with DF and HF in their lowest electronic and vibrational states. The rate constants were measured at both 75/sup 0/C and 100/sup 0/C at which temperatures the presence of dimers (D/sub 2/F/sub 2//H/sub 2/F/sub 2/) were reduced to negligible proportions.
