A discussion is given of aerodynamic devices for improved fuel economy in trucks. The drag reduction due to roof-mounted foils (fairings), tractor-trailer gap seals, and wind deflectors was found to be significant in wind tunnel and full-scale tests. Results of a 6,000-mile over-the-road fuel economy run showed a 12 percent fuel saving. (PMA)
