Cross sections for forward-angle elastic scattering of 7. 55 MeV neutrons: a survey. Final report. [Be, C, Al, Fe, Cu, Sn, W]

Forward-angle neutron elastic-scattering cross sections for Be, C, Al, Fe, Cu, Sn, and W at 7.55 MeV incident neutron energy are presented. The data are compared with both the ENDF/B III evaluations and optical model calculations. In the latter case good agreement between experiment and calculation is obtained for Al, Fe, Cu, and Sn when the Wilmore--Hodgson parameters are used in the optical-model calculation. Reasonably good agreement is found between the data and ENDF/B III, except for carbon and copper. (GRA)
