Wide variety of world crudes gives refiners range of charge stocks

Journal Article · · Oil Gas J.; (United States)
OSTI ID:7361852
A listing of 93 crude export streams and their companion analyses appearing in this and subsequent issues of The Oil and Gas Journal are the result of a project carried out in late 1975 and early 1976. The most recent analysis for each crude from the prime historical or present user, operator, or producer is given. Canadian crudes were not included because they are expected to be less of a factor in the U.S. The North Slope made the list because it is not out of the question that this crude will be exported. The analyses in this issue cover the world's top two exporting giants, Saudi Arabia and Iran. Also, there is an analysis of the USSR's major export crude, Romashkinskaya. China, which may also become a large exporter, is represented by Taching. Twenty-eight countries account for the crudes, from Abu Dhabi to Venezuela, with Zaire to enter the market soon. A companion article in this issue sorts out the complex Venezuelan export scene. (MCW)
