Nuclear orientation of /sup 97,103,105/Ru and /sup 105/Rh

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., C; (United States)

Angular distributions have been measured for ..gamma.. rays emitted following the decays of /sup 97,103,105/Ru and /sup 105/Rh oriented in an iron matrix at temperatures down to 4 mK. Magnetic moments of the decaying states were deduced to be absolute value of ..mu..(/sup 97/Ru) (0.687 +- 0.027) ..mu../sub N/, absolute value of ..mu..(/sup 103/Ru) absolute value of = (0.67 +- 0.11) ..mu../sub N/, absolute value of ..mu.. (/sup 105/Ru) < 0.3 ..mu../sub N/, and absolute value of ..mu..(/sup 105/Rh) = (4.61 +- 0.16) ..mu../sub N/. Values for the E2/M1 mixing ratios were deduced for numerous ..gamma.. rays in the daughter nuclei. The spin assignment of the 442-keV level of /sup 105/Pd is deduced to be 7/2. (AIP)
