Paragraph 73.50(b)(4) of 10 CFR Part 73 requires at fuel reprocessing plants and other plants processing enriched U, /sup 233/U, or Pu that the isolation zone be monitored to detect intruders so that response by the security forces can be initiated. This guide describes six types of perimeter intrusion alarm systems and presents criteria for their performance and use as a means acceptable to NRC for meeting the regulations. (DLC)
