Polarization of radio waves reflected from the auroral ionosphere

The experimental results of measurements of the polarization of radio waves reflected from the auroral ionosphere in vertical sounding are analyzed. Most measurements of radio wave polarization refer to middle latitudes and to reflections from the regular ionosphere, whereas there are no systematic investigations of its general patterns of variation upon reflection from the inhomogeneous auroral ionosphere.
