Properties of the elastic forward scattering amplitude at asymptotic and finite energies

The properties of the elastic forward scattering amplitude which can be deduced from analyticity in the E plane, unitarity, and crossing symmetry are reviewed. The relationship between the phase and the modulus for the symmetric amplitude and for the ratio of the particle and antiparticle amplitudes at finite and asymptotic energies is considered. (AIP)
