Petroleum refineries in the United States and Puerto Rico, January 1, 1973: crude oil capacity
This document is the annual petroleum refineries report prepared by the Division of Fossil Fuels of the Bureau of Mines. It consists primarily of two tables which list in tabular form pertinent petroleum refinery data. Table 1 contains information concerning the number and capacity of petroleum refineries in the United States and Puerto Rico by Bureau of Mines Refining Districts, Petroleum Administration for Defense (PAD) Districts, and States on January 1, 1973. This information is broken down to list total, operating, and shutdown petroleum refineries; crude oil distillation--crude oil throughput capacity (barrels per calender day); and cracking, reforming, coking, and alkylation--gasoline output capacity (barrels per calender day). Table 2 lists capacity of petroleum refineries in the United States and Puerto Rico (barrels per calender day) by company; location; crude oil distillation; cracking, reforming, coking, and alkylation; and other products. A summary of the data and definitions of terms used in the report are also presented. (DCM)
