This anthology of articles published by Exxon represents its ongoing effort of environmental conservation. Five chapters in an overview include Exxon and the Environment; The Oil Industry and the Environment; The Environment: Whose Responsibility; CONCAWE--Ten Years On (Conservation of Clean Air and Water in Western Europe); and Economics for Environmentalists. Four chapters dealing with refineries and terminals are Bugs, Boilers and Goldfish; Exxon USA and Benicia--Getting it Together; A Habit of Concern; and Singapore--Bugging the Pollution Problem. Dealing with offshore problems, the following articles appear: Oil from the Deep Sea; Blowout School; Billion-Dollar Brushpiles; and Hilda's Hidden Haven. Information on tankers and spills is dispensed in articles entitled: Grounded; New Boom Sweeps Clean; The Cleanest Industrial Port in America; and To Prevent a Spill, Go Out and Look (in-port inspection of the tanker). Activities by Exxon in the Arctic are discussed in: New Knowledge of the North; Investigating the Environment at Valdez; Permafrost; and Stepping Lightly. The Mission Possible Man is Art Joen.
