Book ·
OSTI ID:7353114
Thirteen papers are presented on the use of the algal assay for evaluating water quality, especially in relation to entrophication. Some topics discussed are: field evaluation of the algal assay on surface waters of North Carolina; effects of waste water effluents on algal growth in multiple use river systems; comparison of growth responses of different algae in water from Shagawa Lake, Minnesota; seasonal variation of algal production and nutrient limitation in Yaquina Bay, Oregon; nutrient assessments as a basis for lake management priorities; sediment-water microcosms for assessment of nutrient interactions in aquatic ecosystems; and a dilution technique to assess the significance of dredged material disposal.
