OH radio absorption in the Trifid nebula M20

Journal Article · · Sov. Astron. Lett. (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:7352834
The OH absorption in M20 has been measured with an angular resolution of 3'.4 x 18'. Two spectral features have been detected; the stronger one, at 18.7--km/sec radial velocity relative to the Local Standard of Rest, occupies a region that coincides in space with the formaldehyde cloud M20 SW identified by Chaisson and Willson. This cloud forms part of the molecular cloud adjoining the supernova remnant W28.
