Family awareness and understanding of the interrelationship of natural systems and energy use is the goal of this wall calendar for 1976. Each month is devoted to a topic, such as utilities, transportation, appliances, retrofitting, gardens, food, etc. Information is presented to help the family discuss, explore, and calculate the energy requirements for their household. Ideas are listed for family projects, and a space is provided to keep track of monthly energy costs. Suggestions stress substituting physical labor for energy consuming equipment. Instructions include insulation techniques, composting, family health and recreation, and ways to minimize energy use. A bibliography includes 81 titles for further reading. (DCK)
