Investigations of ionization phenomena are described. Topics covered include: L-shell ionization of intermediate- and high-Z elements by alpha particles; relaxation energies for photoionization of tellurium; the effect of chemical environment on the intensities of K..cap alpha.. x-ray satellites produced in heavy-ion collisions; energy dependence of aluminum and silicon K..cap alpha.. x-ray satellite production by heavy ions; and x-ray photoemission and M/sub 4/,/sub 5/NN Auger spectra of tellurium and some of its compounds.
