The solid solutions Sn/sub 1.2--x/Er/sub x/Mo/sub 6/S/sub 8/ and SnMo/sub 6/S/sub 8-x/Se/sub x/ are examined crystallographically and correlations between lattice parameters and superconducting transition temperatures are discussed.
