Geological survey of potential cavern areas in New England. Final report
Technical Report

OSTI ID:7337119
A report is given concerned with the identification of subsurface rock formations in New England in which large, deep, underground caverns could be excavated. The storage of compressed air in a cavern would be part of a system for meeting peak power demands using gas turbines. An underground cavern to store water would serve as the lower reservoir of a pumped storage hydroelectric generation plant. (GRA)
