Title: Lithium electrode and an electrical energy storage device containing the same. [Li--Si/Li and other halide/sulfide]

Abstract

An improved lithium electrode structure comprises an alloy of lithium and silicon in specified proportions and a supporting current-collecting matrix in intimate contact with the alloy. The lithium electrode of the present invention is utilized as the negative electrode in a rechargeable electrochemical cell. 3 figures.
