Efficient generation of continuously tunable coherent radiation in the 2460--2650-A spectral range

Journal Article · · IEEE J. Quant. Electron.; (United States)

Continuously tunable coherent radiation in the 2460 to 2650 A spectral range has been achieved by second harmonic generation (SHG) of a dye laser in a 90/sup 0/ phase-matched ADP crystal, temperature tuned between -116/sup 0/C and 52/sup 0/C. The 8.4 percent conversion efficiency obtained at a fundamental power of 9.6 kW is approximately 5 times larger than that reported earlier for SHG at these wavelengths.
