Superconductivity of polar multi-valley semiconductors and semimetals

Superconductivity of multivalley degenerate semiconductors and intrinsic semimetals is investigated within the framework of the model of polar current-carrier interaction with longitudinal optical phonons, with the virtual interband (intervalley) transitions taken into account. Dependences are found for the critical temperature of the superconducting transition T/sub 0/ on the carrier concentration which are in qualitative agreement with experimental results for SrTiO/sub 3/ and BaPb/sub 1-x/Bi/sub x/O/sub 3/.
