Radiation copolymerization of vinylene carbonate with isobutyl vinyl ether. [Gamma radiation]

Journal Article · · J. Polym. Sci., Polym. Chem. Ed.; (United States)
The radiation-induced copolymerization of vinylene carbonate (M/sub 1/) with isobutyl vinyl ether (M/sub 2/) has been investigated over the temperature range of 40 to 80/sup 0/C. The monomer reactivity ratios r/sub 1/ and r/sub 2/ were determined to be 0.118 and 0.148, respectively, and an activation energy of 7.6 kcal/mole (31.8 kJ/mole) was calculated for the copolymerization process.
