Solar array technology evaluation program for SEPS (Solar Electrical Propulsion Stage)
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:7333308
An evaluation of the technology and the development of a preliminary design for a 25 kw solar array system for solar electric propulsion are discussed. The solar array has a power to weight ratio of 65 w/kg. The system is composed of two wings. Each wing consists of a solar array blanket, a blanket launch storage container, an extension/retraction mast assembly, a blanket tensioning system, an array electrical harness, and hardware for supporting the system for launch and in the operating position.
