Comprehensive financial and operating information on all large privately owned electric utility companies operating in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska, is presented. These utilities represent nearly 100% of the privately owned sector of the nation's electric power industry, on the basis of both assets and revenues, and accounted for 78.1% of the total generation of electric energy in the U.S. in 1973.
