Computer analysis of the bottom-fed fan antenna
Technical Report

OSTI ID:7330528
The bottom-fed fan antenna, which is used by the U.S. Navy for communication in the high-frequency band, was analyzed by computer techniques. Some models for the antenna were evaluated, and the effects of the antenna support structure were studied. The study determined that an accurate thin-wire model for the antenna and support structure can be constructed and that the mast has a significant effect on the antenna input impedance.
