Devonian-Mississippian shale sequence in Ohio

Literature concerning the lithological and faunal aspects of the Devonian-Mississippian shale sequence is evaluated for an area which includes part of the central lowland province to the west and part of the Appalachian plateau province to the east. A review is included on the geology and stratigraphy of Olentangy shale, Huron shale, Chagrin shale, Cleveland shale, Bedford shale, and Black shale. The information is also included on the economic geology of uranium, oil shale, oil and gas, and ceramic products in the area. (JRD)
