The purpose of the compilation is to present, in a central reference document, all of the individual annual reports summarizing the results of the environmental monitoring programs conducted at each of the Energy Research and Development Administration (ERDA) sites having a potential for environmental impact or which release a significant quantity of radioactivity or nonradioactive pollutants. The individual reports comprising the compilation were prepared and previously published by ERDA contractors in accordance with ERDA Manual Chapter 0513, Effluent and Environmental Monitoring and Reporting. These reports contain data on the levels of radioactivity and nonradioactive pollutants in effluents and the environs at each site, and an interpretation of effluent and environmental measurements and sampling results in relation to the appropriate standards for environmental protection, including estimates of potential radiation exposures offsite. The annual reports have been routinely distributed to Federal, state, and local public health and pollution control agencies and to the public. Copies of the individual reports for each site are available upon request from the local ERDA Operations Office or the National Technical Information Center, U. S. Department of Commerce, Springfield, Virginia 22151.
