A loss measurement method applicable to high-intensity superconductors subjected to low-frequency variable induction is presented. An electrical method is used to determine the losses by integration of the volt--ampere product over time. The product is obtained by analog multiplication and integration performed numerically. The input current to the samples is monitored by a system, which is described in detail. Calibration was performed with a copper coil at liquid helium temperature. A 4% precision was obtained for an energy measurement of 4 microjoule. (GRA)
