Two-phase stratiform clouds in the Jovian atmosphere
On the basis of the theory and method of calculating the formation of stratiform clouds (M. V. Buikov and A. M. Pirnach, Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Fiz. Atm. Okeana 9, 486 (1973); M. V. Buikov A. M. Pirnach, T. Ukr. Nauchno-Issled. Gidrometerol. Inst. 114, 3 (1972)) seven models of the ammonia clouds in the Jovian Atmosphere are calculated with different values of the parameters of the atmosphere: velocity of vertical motion w=10, 20 cm/sec, coefficient of turbulence k=2x10/sup 4/, 2x10/sup 5/, 5x10/sup 5/, 10/sup 7/ cm/sup 2//sec, number of condensation nuclei N/sub m/=7.5x10/sup 7/, 10/sup 7/, 7.5x10/sup 5/ cm/sup -3/, relative mass content of ammonia x=0.4x10/sup -3/ 0.3x10/sup -4/, with all the other parameters being the same. The relationships between the parameters of the atmosphere and the characteristics of the cloud microstructure: the concentration of the particles, their average size, ammoniance, etc.: is established. The optical depths tau of the clouds are calculated. (AIP)
