Data on pumping at the anthracite mines of Pennsylvania

The threat to the Nation's reserves of Pennsylvania anthracite from the flow of water into the workings is described. Data are presented on pumping at individual collieries and at central stations. Various types of pumps used for unwatering the mines are described. Photographs are included along with charts of typical mine pumping-plant installations.
