Saturation of the parametric-decay instability near the lower-hybrid frequency

The nonlinear evolution and saturation of parametrically excited lower-hybrid waves are studied numerically by solving the corresponding weak-turbulence wave kinetic equation. It is found that nonlinear electron and ion Landau damping provide effective saturation mechanisms only for pump powers close to the threshold value.
