A report is given on the testing of interior noise and wayside noise of the SOAC rail transit cars. The tests were conducted as part of a program to demonstrate current rapid transit vehicle technology, with passenger convenience and operating efficiency as primary goals. A discussion is given of the instrumentation and test procedures, and a preliminary analysis of the data is presented. (PMA)
