Newly recognized findings on bone scanning in patients with renal cell adenocarcinoma

Journal Article · · Urology (Ridgewood, N.J.); (United States)

Bone scanning with technetium-99m (sup 99m/Tc)-labeled agents has become a widely utilized diagnostic procedure for detecting metastatic disease. This report describes two new findings encountered during evaluation of renal masses in 2 patients: a ''cold,'' photon deficient vertebral lesion presumably a metastasis from renal cell adenocarcinoma, and absent uptake of /sup 99m/Tc-polyphosphate during incidental renal imaging in a kidney with a small peripheral renal cell adenocarcinoma.
