The Third International Conference on Liquefied Natural Gas was held at Washington, D.C., September 24--28, 1972. It was sponsored by the International Gas Union, the International Institute of Refrigeration and the Institute of Gas Technology (Chicago). Papers involved forecasts of the development of the liquefied natural gas industry, liquefaction plant design (including thermodynamic cycles), storage facilities, transport (tanker ship and tank design, pipelines, etc.), heat exchangers, gas compressors, regasification systems (including attempts to recover and reuse the cold), international trade in LNG, safety regulations, hazards, financing and economic aspects, etc. Fifty-one papers have been entered individually into EDB.
