Vulnerability of airborne cryogenic fuel tanks. Technical report, Mar--Aug 1974
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:7311529
This report examines certain aspects of cryogenic fuel tankage specifically liquid hydrogen (LH/sub 2/) use in aircraft. These aspects include background properties, production methods and cost of LH/sub 2/; tankage configuration and associated problems and description of candidate tank wall specimens fabricated for AFFDL/PTS in-house test program. It is concluded that liquid hydrogen presents new potential hazards that require further study to determine their vulnerability. (GRA)
