New numeric data packages from CDIAC
- All-Russian Research Institute of Hydrometeorological Information, Obninsk (Russian Federation)
On May 23, 1972, the United States and the USSR established a bilateral initiative known as the Agreement on Protection of the Environment. The goal of the initiative, which remains active despite the dissolution of the USSR, is to promote cooperation between the two countries on numerous environmental protection issues. At present, the agreement fosters joint research in 11 Working Groups (i.e., areas of study). Given recent interest in possible greenhouse-gas-induced climate change, Working Group VII Influence of Environmental Changes on Climate has become particularly useful. Data packages detailed here include Daily Temperature and Precipation Data for 223 USSR Stations' and Surface Water and Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide and Nitrous Oxide Observations by Shipboard automated Gas Chromatography: Results from Expeditions between 1977 and 1990.
