Master environmental control and mine system design simulator for underground coal mining. Volume XI. Total systems application. Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7308212
This report is volume 11 of an 11-volume report on a dynamic general purpose computer simulation model for underground coal mining. This volume describes the construction and application of the Master Design Simulator as an integrated simulator of an entire underground coal mining system. A discussion of subsystem organization and development is presented, along with execution instructions for various computers, simulation techniques and limitations, and a case study based on data from a coal mine in West Virginia. The cast study illustrates the use of both the interactive or dynamic subsystems (production, rail haulage, roof support, methane generator) and the event-oriented subsystems (geology and reserves, subsidence, cost, water generator, ventilation), and provides information necessary to link the subsystems together. The appendices constitute a user's manual for the linked dynamic subsystems, and include a complete program listing. (GRA)
