GEARB is a package of subroutines for the numerical solution of systems of ordinary differential equations in which the Jacobian matrix has a band structure. It is a modified version of the package described in GEAR: Ordinary Differential Equation System Solver, UCID-30001 (Rev. 3), and is intended primarily for stiff problems. The principal modification is the substitution of band matrix solution routines for the full matrix solution routines. This report describes the GEARB package briefly and gives instructions on its use.
