A rational ratio of the microwave frequency [omega] and the Kepler frequency [Omega] of microwave perturbed hydrogen Rydberg atoms results in a [omega]/[Omega]=[ital K]/[ital M] type resonance ([ital K],[ital M] integer). This paper presents accurate analytical expressions for the widths of all [ital K]/[ital M]-type resonances within the framework of the one-dimensional model for microwave ionization of hydrogen Rydberg atoms. The analytical resonance widths are used together with Chirikov's overlap criterion in a model to compute critical ionization fields in the adiabatic regime ([omega][lt][Omega]). The model explains the experimentally observed phenomenon of stabilization at [omega]/[Omega]=1/[ital M].
