Evaluation of factors contributing to position accuracy in delay line readout of MWPC

A method to accurately measure the resolution of multiwire proportional chambers with delay line readout is described. The contribution of signal to noise, pulse shape, pulse rise time and discriminator slewing to the position accuracy is presented. Results show that position resolution better than 100 microns is possible.
