The purposes of the Workshop were (1) to review the present and future status of supplementary environmental control systems (SECS) as an air pollution control strategy for fossil-fueled electric power plants, and (2) to prepare recommendations to EPRI on the future course of any R and D programs which EPRI might develop on SECS. The historical background which led to the organization of the Workshop and details with regard to the discussions that transpired there are presented.
