Mechanical properties of consumable-arc-melted Kroll-process zirconium

Report presents mechanical properties of low-hafnium, arc-melted, Kroll-process zirconium; shows effect of temperature on the ultimate strength; yield strength, proportional limit, elongation, hardness, Young's modulus, electrical resistivity, and impact strength; gives effects of cold work and annealing on the tensile properties, bend radius, and formability, as determined by cupping tests; and compares tensile properties, in part, to those obtained on earlier graphite-melted zirconium and on crystal-bar zirconium.
