Electric power engineering education at Drexel University

This paper presents the power curriculum at Drexel University at both undergraduate and graduate levels. A discussion is presented on the degree requirements, lab facilities, and student enrollment among others. Approximately 15,000 students in the metropolitan Philadelphia, PA area attend Drexel University. Of these 2,000 are in the ECE Department. 1,436 are full time day undergraduate students (45% of the College of Engineering). Evening ECE Department student are estimated at 290. Graduate students total about 350 in the Department. The ECE Department staff has 46 full time and 7 part-time day faculty in addition to 20 evening and graduate adjunct faculty. The power engineering faculty consists of 4 full-time and 3 adjunct faculty.
