An oil recovery method utilizes a 0.001 to 1.0 percent by weight aqueous solution of a graft copolymer as the flooding agent. The grafted copolymer comprises hydrolyzed poly (vinyl methyl ether-maleic anhydride) interpolymerized with polyacrylamide. Methods of preparing the copolymer and relative viscosities at several aqueous concentrations are given. No laboratory or field tests were described showing its use in oil recovery.
