Patent ·
OSTI ID:7298532
The fabrication of an elongated body of cold worked superconductive alloy of 60 to 80% by weight of niobium, 0.5 to 3% by weight of tin and the remainder zirconium is described. The body has surfaces parallel to the longitudinal axis and a lamellar structure with the lamellae substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, the average thickness of the lamellae being between 0.01 and 1.0..mu... Also described is an elongated body of a cold worked superconductive alloy of 20 to 80% by weight of niobium, 0.1 to 10% by weight of tin and the remainder zirconium having surfaces parallel to the longitudinal axis thereof and having a lamellar structure with the lamellae substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, the average thickness of the lamellae being between 0.01 and 1.0..mu...
