Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/7296596· OSTI ID:7296596
This project is concerned with an experimental investigation of the properties of alkali and alkaline earth metal salt combinations for catalyzing the coal char-CO/sub 2/ acceptor (lime)--steam and the char-oxygen-steam reactions. The purpose of this investigation is to provide catalyst performance characteristics so that a preliminary assessment of the technical and economic feasibility of producing hydrogen and other synthetic fuels by means of catalytic coal/char gasification can be made.
