Title: Transport properties of superconducting and nonsuperconducting sputtered thin films of Nb--N (critical field)

Journal Article · · IEEE Trans. Magn.; (United States)

By changing the preparation conditions one can indeed obtain superconducting samples or very resistive samples. In the first case the behavior of the slope of the critical field versus temperature curves near T/sub c/ have been studied, and it is shown that (dH/sub c2//dI)/sub Ic/ is a regular increasing function of the Ginzburg-Landau parameter kappa. The temperature dependent resistivity rho(T), of the nonsuperconducting samples has been measured. The results can be interpreted in terms of hopping conduction in disorderd materials, the resistivity indeed fits well Mott's relation, rho = (rho)/sub 0/(exp (T/T/sub 0/))/sup -1///sup 4/. 22 references.
