Statistical models of geophysical processes with Kurtosis and skewness of the probability density function

Two statistical models suitable for the analysis of random processes in geophysics are investigated. The parameters of the models are first- and second-order moments and the coefficients of skewness and kurtosis. The regions of application of both models are analyzed in detail.
