Electroexcitation of the T = 1 nucleus Ni/sub 58/ and the T = 2 nucleus Ni/sub 60/ up to 50 mev excitation energy. [102 MeV cross sections]

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7288672
Giant multipole resonances and bound states in Ni/sub 58/ and Ni/sub 60/ were studied with inelastic scattering of electrons at 102 MeV incident energy and scattering angles of 45, 60, 75, 90, and 105 degrees. In the energy interval from 5 to 50 MeV excitation energy, eleven and thirteen states or resonances were observed in Ni/sub 58/ and Ni/sub 60/, respectively. Additionally, electroexcitation at low momentum transfer where the E1 cross section is predominantly excited shows a pronounced difference in cross section for Ni/sub 58/ when compared to Ni/sup 6//sub 0/ and for (e,e') as compared to photon experiments.
