Hamiltonian formulation of Chern-Simons theory with matter fields in the broken-symmetry phase

We quantize canonically the Abelian Chern-Simons gauge theory coupled to a complex matter field in 2+1 dimensions where the Higgs mechanism takes place and show explicitly that the matter field does not have fractional spin in the broken-symmetry phase.
