Polarization of the. chi. sub c 2 in p p annihilation: Massless QCD versus diquarks

The measurement of the diagonal spin-density matrix elements {rho}{sub {ital M}{ital M}} of the {chi}{sub {ital c}2} produced in exclusive {ital p{bar p}} annihilation, via its radiative decay into {ital J}/{psi}{gamma}, can discriminate between different nucleon models. Whereas perturbative massless QCD predicts the {chi}{sub {ital c}2} to be entirely in {ital M}={plus minus}1 states (i.e., only {rho}{sub 11}={rho}{sub {minus}1{minus}1}{ne}0), quark-diquark models of the nucleon allow also {ital M}=0 states ({rho}{sub 00}{ne}0). Predictions of a particular model are given.
